I like that statement. To me it means we each have a choice on how to deal with any situation, how to react, how to feel, how to think. When a person reacts to being wronged in some way by anything violent, they'll claim they were pushed to violence and the resulting crime by that event, and therefore didn't have control over their actions or thoughts. And our legal system falls for it...temporary insanity, crime of passion, etc...they are all lame excuses for making the wrong choices.
